Senior LC-MS/MS Scientist

The RxCelerate group provides a platform for out-sourced drug discovery and development
services and has a client base ranging from virtual biotech companies to multinational pharmaceutical companies. We design and deliver complete drug development programmes and project management for our clients from inception through to Phase I clinical studies.

We are currently looking to recruit a Senior LC-MS/MS scientist to expand our department based at the beautiful Babraham Research Campus. The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a full time Senior LC-MS/MS scientist to broaden their experience in an expanding bioanalysis department that operates in both research and GxP environment and is equipped with the latest Waters Xevo TQ-XS mass spectrometers.

You will be responsible to the department head for the development and execution of quantitative analysis of small molecules (both drug and metabolites) in a variety of biological fluids and tissues.

You will develop methods for discovery projects which then have the potential to go on to be validated in accordance with guidance set by the EMA and FDA for regulatory submissions.

You must have a strong background in quantitative bioanalysis and demonstrate awareness of the requirements to operate LC-MS/MS assays in a regulated environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Developing small molecule LC-MS/MS assays for discovery projects.

  • Validating LC-MS/MS assays for regulatory submissions.

  • Supporting the day to day running of bioanalytical assays for both discovery and regulated sample analysis.

  • Provide expert bioanalytical support in troubleshooting methodologies and instrumentation, minimising downtime and preventing delays in project progression.

Skills/Requirements

  • Ideally at least 5 year’s practical experience with LC-MS/MS.

  • Experience in developing novel analytical methods for small molecule compounds.

  • Familiarity with GLP and GCP.

  • Experience with peptide and protein mass spectrometry is desirable but not essential.

  • A positive attitude and an inquisitive nature with the desire to learn new techniques to develop the company’s scientific base.

  • Highly organised and self-motivated with a track record of performing experiments with minimal supervision.

  • Meticulous attention to detail in experimental report writing.

  • Strong communication skills, with proven ability to work as part of a team.

  • Ability to multitask and work across multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to review and assimilate new information rapidly and effectively.

  • Excellent level of computer literacy.
